Bob Rae’s new podcast to ‘get beyond talking points and spin’ in politics

“Political Stripes” debuts September 5, 2019

Toronto – Bob Rae wants to start a new political conversation among Canadians. On September 5th, 2019, he’s launching “Political Stripes” a new weekly podcast. The first episode features comedian and political commentator, Rick Mercer about the rise of showbusiness over policy in politics.

Rae brings a unique perspective based on his decades of experience in federal and provincial politics. Given his past roles as Premier of Ontario and interim leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Rae has the ability to see past the punditry and talking points.

Rae promises a different approach to the podcast that will go beyond the partisan political spin. “What you’re going to get is the real thing. We’re going to have a conversation that really takes us to a new point in the discussion, cutting through some of the nonsense and the propaganda and getting to the heart of the issue.”

In the first eight weeks, the podcast will focus on issues arising in the upcoming federal election. The shows will feature prominent Canadian political journalists and pundits, pollsters, experts and maybe even a few current or former politicians. The focus in the conversations will be to help enable the listener to make an informed decision on October 21st, 2019.

After the election, Political Stripes will examine issues affecting the lives of Canadians at a provincial, national and international level.

The podcast is produced by Toronto-based Amazing! Agency.
