NATIONAL HARBOR, MD. — Accounting and business management software vendor Sage North America is set to bring its offering for startups to Canada, looking to provide business platform and progression path to grow their business with from inception to midmarket to enterprise and beyond.
At its annual Summit customer and partner conference in suburban Washington, DC, the vendor said the cloud-based Sage One would be coming to the Canadian market “soon” with local accounting and tax requirements and English and French bilingual capabilities.
“We’re really looking forward to bringing Sage One to Canada; it will come in the fall,” said Nancy Harris, vice president and general manager for Sage 50 – Canadian Edition. “We’ve had demand from Canadian prospects for Sage One US, so we know there’s pent-up demand for the product in Canada. We’re very excited to be bringing it to Canada.”
Already available in the U.S., Sage One is designed for businesses of roughly 10 seats and under, and aims to help entrepreneurs and small businesses run their business more easily by simplifying common business tasks.
“We’re enthusiastic and proud of the rapid evolution of Sage One. Over the last six months we have introduced seamless bank account integration, the ability to get paid faster with integrated credit card processing and various advancements in the accounting area such as the ability to track quotes and outstanding bills owed by the small business,” said Henry Benamram, general manager, Sage One in the US, in a statement. “This year at Sage Summit we are pleased to celebrate this evolution with our customers whose input has helped shape our product updates.”
A Canadian edition is just one of the new developments. Other enhancements upcoming include the launch of an Accountant’s Edition to connect accountants with their clients using Sage One, and a mobile app.
Sage One is seen as an entry-point to bring new startups into Sage who can move up the Sage product chain to Sage 50, the vendor’s SMB offering, as they add employees and grow.
In other announcements by Sage at Summit related to its midmarket offerings, the vendor announced new cloud-based mobile solutions — Sage Mobile Sales, Sage Mobile Service, and Sage Billing and Payment – to integrate with of Sage 100 ERP and Sage 300 ERP.
