RIM offers SMB e-mail server solution
Research In Motion announced the release of BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express. BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express is available as a free download to any user who purchases a new BlackBerry device. This new offering targets SMBs, branch offices and companies new to BlackBerry who wish to deploy the BlackBerry solution.
With BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express, small and mid-sized companies new to BlackBerry can access the same functionality and features of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and experience the same enterprise-level security and manageability of the BlackBerry solution. The software comes with a single user licence and is upgradeable to support up to 15 users.

Oracle offers improved RFID technology in Oracle Fusion Middleware
Oracle announced enhancements to its Oracle Sensor Edge Server, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, to enable organizations to integrate their existing IT environments with RFID and sensor technologies.
The latest version of Oracle Sensor Edge Server provides several new features for customers investing in RFID technology including out-of-the-box integration with a variety of market-leading RFID devices, device management for the industry’s leading RFID tag readers, antenna, tag printers and response systems.
Oracle Sensor Edge Server is also integrated with Oracle Fusion Middleware to provide customers with enhanced features like RFID-driven business process management and workflows through integration with Oracle Enterprise Service Bus and Oracle BPEL Process Manager, Oracle RFID Event Monitoring and Oracle Business Activity Monitoring and pre-packaged business analytics on RFID events.
Oracle Sensor Edge Server is available and licensed with all editions of Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3.
IBM unveils master data management software
IBM released master data management software designed to provide users with control over product information, enabling them to improve time-to-market.
The newest version of IBM WebSphere Product Center provides master data management capabilities for managing product information in the retail, consumer packaged goods, consumer electronics and manufacturing industries. It offers scalability and new SOA enablement features.
WebSphere Product Center helps companies develop and manage a central repository of product information. Improvements include changes to how product information is organized and handled throughout an organization, allowing companies to reduce data errors, avoid redundant product information and minimize manual processes.
WebSphere Product Center is available from IBM and IBM Business Partners.
TK8 Safe released by TK8 Software
TK8 Software has released TK8 Safe Standard and TK8 Safe Professional, Windows password managers to store and retrieve user IDs, passwords, serial numbers and other confidential information. The Professional version allows multiple users to access the protected database concurrently, with individual permissions for each user. The Professional version also lets users choose the algorithm that they use to protect their data and to define Login Groups that allow users to open multiple pages with one click.
All of the user’s private information is stored in a single, encrypted database and is accessible only to its owner. TK8 Safe’s interface and features simplify sorting and searching. The program’s auto-type feature lets users log in to password-protected Web pages automatically.
New features in the Standard version include a Recycle Bin with unlimited undo, the ability to access favourite passwords quickly and the ability to store custom information with each ID or password that is stored.
TK8 Safe Standard and Professional run on Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP/2003 and cost US$19.95 and US$29.95 respectively for a single-user licence and can be purchased from the company site. An evaluation copy is available from the same address.
