Industry association Startup Canada honoured eight entrepreneurs, businesses, and support organizations from across Ontario on Wednesday night, as part of its fifth annual Startup Canada awards.
The winners of the awards, which celebrate achievements in Canada’s entrepreneurship and innovation community, were announced in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. at a ceremony attended by leading Canadian investors, innovators, and anchor company executives.
“Congratulations to the 2018 winners of the Startup Canada Awards,” said Startup Canada co-founder and CEO Victoria Lennox said in a June 13 statement. “These winners represent the very essence of entrepreneurship. We are proud to celebrate their success with Canadians and our partners around the world.”
Like their B.C., Prairies, Atlantic, and Québec counterparts, the Ontario regional winners are now being evaluated by Startup Canada’s National Adjudication Committee, composed of leading Canadian entrepreneurship and industry experts.

The national winners will be celebrated at the Startup Canada Awards Grand Finale in Ottawa on October 18, 2017 following Startup Canada Day on the Hill, Startup Canada’s annual national entrepreneurship event.
