At its Web 3.0 conference this week, the Canadian Digital Media Network announced that York Region’s ventureLAB has become part of its national network. CDMN now has more than 20 member hubs like ventureLAB which embody the collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit necessary to create companies, jobs and wealth in Canada’s digital economy.
The Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) is a federal Centre of Excellence in Commercialization and Research dedicated to establishing Canada as a world leader in digital media by creating and enabling connections and collaboration between entrepreneurs, companies, research institutes, government and intermediary organizations across the country.
ventureLAB is York Region’s innovation centre for high tech entrepreneurs. It is also the GTA’s most northerly centre in the Ontario Network of Excellence [ONE], Ontario’s client-focused, province-wide innovation network.
ventureLAB has a proven track record of helping entrepreneurs in York Region launch a venture and keep it growing.” says Kevin Tuer, CDMN Managing Director. “CDMN is proud to count ventureLAB among our members, and is excited about tapping into its expertise to help the Canadian start-up community mature and prosper”.
CDMN membership gives ventureLAB access to its members-only online collaboration of commercialization resources- the largest in Canada. This immediately expands ventureLAB’s client support capability while enabling national access to CDMN regional resources. ventureLAB also gains domestic and international market exposure for their client companies, and access to CDMN’s unique network services that enable their clients to leverage their regional programming.
“By joining the Canadian Digital Media Network, ventureLAB connects its growing community of digital media and ICT entrepreneurs to a national movement where all partners are dedicated to establishing Canadian companies as global powerhouses,” said Jeremy Laurin, President and CEO ventureLAB. We are proud to be connected and contribute York Region’s best and brightest to grow Canadian global class export oriented firms.”
