So you think you know how to use Facebook? Let me tell you, there’s more to scrolling through the news feed, inviting people to your summer barbeque, and liking pictures of your friend’s pets.
Facebook pages can be a great way to drive traffic to your company website. You can introduce your services to people who were unaware of them before and hopefully convert them into customers. But are you using all of the tools that Facebook has made available to page admins?
Here are 5 tips and tricks to turn you from a mere news feed scroller into a page master:
1. Highlight posts
Not all posts are created the same, which is why the best of them deserve to be highlighted on your Facebook page. Previously that used to make the highlighted image larger than the others. But now, the post gets a blue ribbon like the one you see on the image below.
To do this go to the post that you wish to highlight and click on the drop down arrow. After that simply click on ‘Highlight’ and that’s all.
2. Promotions
Specials, deals and discounts give a boost to sales from time to time. It would be great if we could announce them on the cover picture, which takes up a lot of real estate when someone first reaches the page. Keep in mind that Facebook does not allow explicit commercial activity on cover pictures.
That is where you can use pinned posts. If you have a promotion running for a week, just make a post about it and then pin it so that it stays on top of all other posts. Here’s how you pin a post:
Just click the drop down button next to a post and then click pin post which is the first option.
3. Reposition images
Sometimes larger images tend to go out of position on Facebook, which hides the subject or other important aspects of the image. Don’t let that spoil the appearance of your Facebook page. To reposition the image, simply click on the drop down option and then click on reposition image.
4. Add a milestone
You can use milestones to show your fans important events and successes of your organization. Show off the company awards, IPO’s and other things that your company is proud of. To do so, just click on offers, event+ on the post menu. Then select milestone. You can insert the title, location, date and a brief story with images.
5. Embed your Facebook page
You can now embed your Facebook posts into your company website. This can be done when you wish to show how popular a product has turned out to be and what people are commenting on your Facebook page.
