Adobe Systems Inc. revealed further plans to update its Creative Cloud service with product feature updates to Illustrator and Dreamweaver today.
Creative Cloud launched in May 2012, giving the creative professionals that use Adobe’s suite of products that include Photoshop, Premier Pro, and Dreamweaver a subscription option to download the programs and receive regular updates. The service also includes services for online file storage, sharing, collaboration, and publishing.
Creative Cloud customers will receive an update to Adobe Illustrator before the end of the month, says Scott Morris, senior marketing director for creative pros at Adobe. That will include a new feature called file packager that takes all the media and files linked to an Illustrator project and bundles them into one package that is easy to send to another designer or a printer. There will also be other features added like an unembed image option to extract embedded images from an Illustrator file.
In September, Creative Cloud will receive further updates with the Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition, which allows for publishing to the iPad. There will also be the addition of Edge Animate to the suite, and a Dreamweaver update. More updates will come before the end of the year, Morris says.
“We said from the very beginning with Creative Cloud that as our engineers create features that will be available in the next version of Creative Suite… we’ll ship them into Creative Cloud. Essentially we’re giving early access to new features,” he says.
On Monday, Adobe announced its cloud subscription service had been updated to include Muse contact forms and an Edge Preview update.
Canadian customers must subscribe to Creative Cloud via Adobe.com and pay for the subscription in U.S. dollars. The price on an annual individual contract is $49.99 per month, and the price of a team annual contract is $69.99 per month. A month-to-month option is available to individuals for $74.99.
