Alcatel adds to OmniSwitch line

Alcatel announced the Alcatel OmniSwitch 9600 as its latest addition to the

OmniSwitch 9000 series of 10-Gigabit Ethernet switches.

The switch provides a low-cost entry point chassis that uses existing OS9000 modules, delivering future- proof solutions with advanced security and QoS (quality of service) features for use in small enterprise cores, in the aggregation layer, and also in wiring closets due to its compact form factor and flexible power-over-Ethernet support.

Aimed at campus environments, the Alcatel OmniSwitch 9600 provides support for future applications including video-over-IP and Gigabit Ethernet to the desktop. The Alcatel OmniSwitch 9600 platform delivers wire-rate processing for IPv4/IPv6 unicast and multicast applications.

The Alcatel OmniSwitch 9600 model is currently available as a five-slot chassis supporting one chassis management module (CMM) and four network interface (NI) modules. The OmniSwitch 9600 will also offer power-over-Ethernet later this year to support IP telephones, WLAN access points and video devices. VoIP and video performance is enhanced through use of policy- based QoS using OmniVista NMS PolicyView.

Data Management

TrialSat tool aimed at pharama firms

TrialStat Corp. announced the next version of ClinicalAnalytics, a tool for pharmaceutical and biotech companies, contract research organizations (CROs) and academic institutions to access through the Web or a handheld device an EDC platform.

CA 4.0 offers Clinical Intell (CI) which provides advanced, user configurable, reporting across base and aggregated data sets. Data is displayed in standard table formats, as well as in a comprehensive selection of charts and graph types. Enhanced Double Data Entry: is designed to improve support for studies that still use paper to capture all or some of their data by providing streamlined data entry and conflict detection interfaces.

Integrated post data entry validation and DCF generation permits the design and use of complex validation rules that can be run against a full data set any time. The system also allows DCFs/queries to be automatically created based on a pre-defined rule set.

The data dictionary automation module allows study managers to upload and use any standard dictionary, such as MedDRA and WHOART, in their projects. Form fields designated as coded feature a quick lookup interface to allow coding personnel to easily select dictionary terms rather than hand enter them. Customers can also migrate their custom dictionaries to CA 4.0.

TrialStat is offering two versions of CA 4.0 for its customers.  CA 4.0 Infinite is specifically designed for pharmaceutical and biotech companies and CROs and includes all the software’s new data management features, while CA 4.0 Select allows academic institutions to choose á la carte which new data management features they want.

TrialStat will release ClinicalAnalytics 4.0 to its customers in December.
