Apple doubles iPad storage to 128GB

If you’ve been waiting for a new and redesigned Apple iPad, you’ll have to wait a little longer. Apple does have something to tide you over though an iPad: with double the storage.

On Tuesday, Apple announced a 128GB version of its fourth generation iPad with Retina Display. With 128GB of storage, the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular models double the storage of the 64GB model, the previous largest iPad available.

“With more than 120 million iPads sold, it’s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and every day they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice-president of worldwide marketing, in a statement. “With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs.”

The iPad model with newly-enlarged storage is available now, with pricing at US$799 for the Wi-Fi model, and $929 for Wi-Fi + Cellular.

Apple is now offering a 128GB iPad 4.
