Avaya integrates communications with Google Apps
Avaya Inc. announced it has joined the Google Enterprise Professional program to develop capabilities for small businesses around Google’s enterprise products.
Under the terms of the agreement, Avaya will develop, market and support offers that integrate Avaya’s communications solutions for small businesses with the Google Apps Premier Edition, the subscription services solution for e-mail, instant messaging, calendar and Web publishing services.
Google Apps brings communication and collaboration tools to organizations using their own domain name. With the Google Apps service, users can use tools like Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, and Google Docs & Spreadsheets on their own domain to stay connected and work together. In addition, it’s all hosted by Google, so there’s no hardware or software to download, install or maintain.
The companies’ collaborative efforts will initially focus on Avaya IP Office, Avaya’s flagship IP telephony communications solution for small and mid-size businesses, with availability planned for fall 2007.
The first integrated solution, which Avaya expects to deliver later this year, will be sold through Avaya’s global network of resellers and distributors, providing customers with a single point of contact for sales, installation and support.
