Canadian accelerator for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) companies, L-Spark, has an ambitious goal for Ottawa: to make the Canadian capital the SaaS capital of the world.
To reach that goal, L-Spark announced seven new SaaS startups that will form the accelerators fall cohort. To choose these startups, different companies took part in a three-week boot camp competing for a place in the accelerator.
The seven startups are as follows:
- iamsick – A healthcare engagement platform that is designed with a system-wide lens to help patients find healthcare services, book appointments online, see wait-times, and send prescriptions. It has a web and mobile app.
- Heyday – An AI-powered customer experience chatbot that can be integrated with CRM solutions and connected to e-commerce platforms.
- Transparent Kitchen – This platform converts online interests into real diners by connecting them to both the restaurant’s and suppliers’ products through a digital menu.
- Cybeats – Provides a cybersecurity platform for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Cybeats’ software is implanted into enterprise IoT devices to detect threats instantly and gather data to help security professionals neutralize them. Its cloud SaaS ecosystem analyzes forensics data from infected devices as well.
- PropertySpark – A platform for realtors to help advertise and publish content on social media. It has an audience of more than 300,000 people who have engaged with real estate on social media platforms.
- EnergyX – An energy management technology company with an online energy audit and marketplace platform called MyEnergyXpert.
- Eyesover – Uses AI to discover new keywords that are being used in discussions online. Ideal for social media listings.
The immediate goal for L-Spark in regards to these startups is to help increase revenue by 10x. To do so, it will be offering one-on-one mentorships with software veterans, SaaS workshops, and provide face-time with successful SaaS entrepreneurs.
Currently, L-Spark has accelerated 29 companies since the beginning of 2015, and has over 10,000 SaaS investors, corporate partners, and startups in its network.
