CCTsoftware provides tracking control system
CCTsoftware has released an update to Key Control, a Windows program that tracks company laptops, credit cards, keys, ID Cards, beepers, cars, office cleaning equipment and more. It can tell which employees have signed out which assets and when they are returned.
You can track employees by name, badge number, department, and active/inactive status, and see which assets have been assigned to them. You can maintain a database of an unlimited number of assets, including descriptions and serial numbers. Key Control keeps track of who has possession of each asset, when it was assigned to them, and when it was returned.
The audit tracking feature lets you monitor who made changes in the software settings. The inventory control feature lets you track multiple items of assets that you loan out. It includes or excludes categories of people or assets, and print only the information that you need. All reports can be saved in text, Adobe Acrobat (.PDF), and Web page (.HTML) formats.
You can also export data so that you can read it into your favorite spreadsheet or database. Similarly, it imports employee and asset information from your personnel and inventory systems.
Key Control runs under Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista, costs US$99 for a three-user licence, and may be purchased securely online from http://www.cctsoftware.com Multi-user and site licenses are available. You can download a free trial version from the same Web site.

Memeo introduces AutoBackup Pro for network protection
Memeo Inc. announced the addition to its line of backup software solutions – Memeo AutoBackup Pro. This product combines the features of Memeo’s flagship backup solution, AutoBackup 2.0 with flexibility, security and user-friendly capabilities. With AutoBackup Pro, users can now extend digital content protection throughout their entire network.
The Windows Vista compatible Memeo AutoBackup Pro is the content management and data protection software for ‘prosumers’ and small business users with advanced needs. It allows you to not only protect personal files such as photos, videos, music and work files on a local system but also content that is stored on the network as well.
This Pause Until feature allows for CPU and network bandwidth conservation. Users can dynamically instruct Memeo to pause until a specific time such as when the computer is idle or network is free. This allows users to optimize their system resources and network availability to their individual needs. Even though AutoBackup Pro is paused, it is still tracking any changes made, all while staying out of their way.
Another feature of AutoBackup Pro is its ability to back up files located on a local network. Users can set a daily designated time for Memeo to scan for changes on the network and backup to an external hard disk, another NAS device, or online destination for offsite protection and instant access.
Memeo AutoBackup Pro is available immediately exclusively from Memeo’s Web site at www.memeo.com/autobackuppro for US$99.95 with an introductory US$20.00 discount. Other Memeo products are available in over 10 languages including Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Spanish, German, French, Italian, U.K. English, and Brazilian Portuguese. It is available via our OEM partners including Seagate, Buffalo Technologies, D-Link, and retail outlets and online retailers such as CompUSA, DataVision, Fry’s, eCost.com, Amazon.com, J&R, MicroCenter and Newegg.com.
