More than 250 people packed the Schmooze Club in Toronto for the annual CDN Top 100 Solution Provider event.
For the third year in a row NexInnovations claimed top spot on the list, with more than $600 million in revenue. Xwave Solutions, MicroAge, Softchoice and Software Spectrum rounded
out the top five.
Cognos was the top ISV for a third consectutive year with more than $1 billion in revenue.
The fastest rising solution provider was Quebec City-based Informatique EBR Inc., who clawed up 14 spots from last year just on building up their market presence in Quebec.
The newcomer of the year, HighVail Systems of Thornhill, Ont., came out of one of the top VARs of the eighties and nineties. Some of its founders come from CoreLAN Communications Inc. They took their expertise in building open networking computing solutions based on best of breed systems and founded a new company just last year.
CDN Canada’s top IT channel publications commissioned Evans Research Corp. of Toronto to determine the top 100 Canadian solution providers and the top 25 ISVs.
The event, which had a jazz theme, was sponsored by Ingram Micro Canada, Microsoft Canada, NEC/Mitsubishi, Hewlett Packard, Symantec, and Maxtor. Special guest speaker was three-time Olympic gold medalist Marnie McBean.
