Web apps are becoming increasingly important business tools to many organizations and, if not secured, they also risk becoming a security weakpoint that can be exploited to gain entry to sensitive business data.
It’s a vulnerability that security vendor Trend Micro Inc. is seeking to address with its latest offering, Trend Micro Web App Security. According to the vendor, it’s a service offering that provides enterprise-grade security, including vulnerability detection and protection, for web applications and the platform they’re running on in an organization. The cloud-based service can issue unlimited SSL certificates and be tuned to meet each application’s unique security needs.
The tool is part of Trend Micro’s Cloud and Data Centre Security Solution. In addition to vulnerability detection, it also includes web malware checking and reputation management, automatic protection at the platform level and native integration with leading web application firewalls.
