Facebook is enhancing call-to-action buttons on Pages in order to allow customers to schedule, order, buy, and more on any business page from any mobile device.
With the new update, businesses can add these new buttons to their pages, allowing customers to interact with businesses from any of their devices. For example, a takeout restaurant can display its menu on its page, and allow customers to order from that menu directly from the Facebook page.
Businesses can implement the call-to-action buttons in two ways: with Facebook Messenger, or Facebook’s existing service providers who have partnered with Pages such as delivery.com, HomeAdvisor, or MyTime.
From then on, whenever a customer takes an action on a business’ page, like asking for a quote, or requesting an appointment, a messenger thread is automatically created between your business and that person. Their options include:
- Shop now – Showcase products and let people make purchases from the shop section (Facebook also notes that it’s rolling out a way for posts to be tagged with products from the shop section);
- Get quote – Give people the option to request a quote for your service, a feature the company notes has limited global availability at this time;
- Request time – Coordinate your bookings, which is available in the U.S. to pages that have added a services section.
Integrating third-party services is currently only available in the U.S., with more services being added in the coming months. In order to use these services, businesses will have to update the call-to-action button on their pages, where they will be guided through the process of adding a service. Current third-party services include:
- Start order – Accept orders with deliver.com or Slice;
- Book now – Book appointments with HomeAdvisor, MyTime, and other services;
- Buy tickets – Sell tickets with Eventbrite or Ticketmaster;
- See showtimes – provide show schedules and sell tickets with Fandango.
