Sharp Electronics of Canada has expanded its lineup of digital signage solutions with the launch of a number of new displays by its Business Solutions Division.
Sharp has launched the new PN-E Series of LED Displays and its first professional grade 70″ Class 4K Ultra HD Display. The PNE-Series are designed to offer flexibility for around-the-clock operations, while the PN-H701 offers 4K Ultra HD resolution (3,840 x 2,160) to bring a new level of detail to text and high-resolution imagery.
“These new introductions continue to position Sharp as a leader in the world of commercial display and we look forward to driving growth in this market with the highest levels of technology, product quality and service,” said Carmine Cinerari, president of Sharp Electronics of Canada, in a statement.
The PN-E Series includes two models – the 70” class PN-E703 and the 60” class ON-E603. The LED screens are based on the same design and interface as Sharp’s 700 nit PN-R series, but there have been changes. The PN-E703 is 40 per cent thinner and 86 per cent lighter than the previous model, and the PN-E603 is 45 per cent thinner and 84 per cent lighter than its predecessor. These new displays produce 450 candelas per square meter (cd/m²), making them well-suited for controlled lighting environments, and Sharp’s UVA technology allows for truly bright whites and extremely deep blacks.
The PN-H701 4K UHD display is a 70″ Class solution with an ultra-slim aluminum bezel designed for 24/7 operation in professional and commercial settings. Sharp claims it’s the narrowest and lightest display on the market at 9mm in thinness, it is the narrowest and lightest display in its class, and it’s designed for both portrait and landscape formats. The display is also equipped with upscaling capability to upscale Full HD (1080p) signals to 4K Ultra HD. The built-in USB Port and internal memory media player allow content to be played without a PC.
“We are proud to add the new PN-E703 and PN-E603 to our lineup, bringing a great design, high brightness and competitive price point to the market. It is especially exciting to introduce our first professional grade 4K UHD display from Sharp and all the advanced features of Ultra High Definition in a 24/7 professional grade product that is as versatile as it is durable,” said Mike Murphy, director of sales and marketing, digital communication solutions in Sharp’s Business Solutions Division.
The PN-E603 and PN-H701 are now available, and the PN-E703 will become available in April.
