Panasonic Canada Inc. has released a video surveillance system aimed at small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs), giving them more options for digital video recording.

Built to complement Panasonic’s existing WJ-NV200 recorder, the new system is branded as the WJ-NV300, and it offers field upgradeable camera expansion, more video storage, and a user interface that makes use of an enhanced dual screen. It’s geared towards SMBs like stores, restaurants, fast food chains, and businesses in healthcare, and Panasonic is touting the solution as one offering better image quality, being easy to scale, and as having “competitive prices.”

The WJ-NV300 is supposed to make video surveillance content more manageable and easier to share, as it comes with dual gigabit Ethernet interfaces, remote access camera control, and options to manage viewing and recording.

It also allows users to transfer video recordings through its memory cards, as it has both SD and USB card slots. For users that want to access their recordings remotely, they can download the Panasonic Security Viewer 2.0 app for iOS and Android, allowing them to watch recordings from a smartphone or tablet.

The NV300 doesn’t require a PC, but it allows for full camera viewing and recording through a built-in user interface controlled by a mouse. It also records in HD for 16 channels, but it can expand up to 24 or 32 channels by buying a WJ-NVE30 add-on kit.

Panasonic has also added some improvements to the WJ-NV300. It has a recording bandwidth of up to 128 megabytes per second – double the recording rate of the NV200.

And if businesses already have Panasonic’s other video management solutions, like the ASM200 or the ASM970, the WJ-NV300 is compatible with them and can be integrated right into those larger systems.

For businesses interested in the WJ-NV300, they can look for it by contacting authorized Panasonic Canada sales channels.
