When I finally started really working after obtaining my B.Math Honours C/S Co-op and M.Math C/S from the University of Waterloo, I decided that I was
now an adult and should start drinking coffee. Being as I really didn’t like it, I would pick up a half-coffee/half-hot-chocolate at Second Cup on my way to Esso Plaza every morning.
Then, there was the day I picked up chocolate-covered coffee beans to munch on. Not only did I end up feeling even more nauseated than usual that day but I had an unbelievable buzz on. I finally made the connection between feeling nauseated and drinking coffee in the morning. I tried a week with no coffee — no nausea. I tried another day of coffee (mixed with hot chocolate) — nausea. Ergo, coffee did not agree with me. I have never drank it since.

It’s about time that the government look at ways to connect all databases. The dollars spent on this project can easily be paid off by the savings captured as government cracks down on welfare fraud, health care fraud, unemployment fraud, and the list goes on.
What is amazing is that it took them so many years to come up with this idea, but then we’re talking government — they’re always slow to catch on. I guess the only consolation is “”better late than never.””
I do hope though that they don’t blow off the savings on some ridiculous computer leasing deal, thanks to Mel Lastman.

While your idea regarding using the Pantone Matching System as a basis for e-commerce is sound, I think execution may be a tad more difficult.
The Pantone people seem to be decidedly unfriendly in terms of allowing the man-on-the-street (i.e. NOT professional designer) access to their PMS resources.
I’m hoping you had better luck than I did trying to find a free-for-use Pantone guide on the Web. Last time we needed some colour-matching around the office, I had to kick our designer off his Adobe Illustrator Workstation and use the tools built into that software package.
