Samsung Electronics Canada is set to open its first retail stores here in Canada.
Though details are still sketchy, the first stand-alone Samsung location willopen in the Canadian market by the end of this year, according to theFinancialPost.
The move will heat up competition among Apple Inc. and Sony Corp.(which already have retail locations in Canada) and Microsoft Corp.which reportedly plans to open its first Canadian retail store inToronto’s Yorkdale Mall.
Samsung opened its first store-within-a-store kiosk in the UK last weekon Oxford Street in London. The company is already testingthe store-within-a-store concept in Canada through a partnership withTelus Corp.
