SanDisk provides flash-based storage solution for blade servers
SanDisk Corp. announced that IBM has selected SanDisk to provide a flash-based storage solution for blade servers. SanDisk’s SATA 5000 2.5-inch solid state drive (SSD) will be offered for data storage within the IBM BladeCenter HS21 XM, featuring in processing and power-management performance.
Blade computers – which integrate servers, storage, networking and applications into one system. IBM HS21 XM blades are packed with up to 32 gigabytes of random-access memory and up to eight I/O ports.

BEA introduces the availability of BEA AquaLogic Pages, BEA AquaLogic Ensemble and BEA AquaLogic Pathways
BEA Systems announced the general availability of BEA AquaLogic Pages, BEA AquaLogic Ensemble and BEA AquaLogic Pathways. The three products are designed to bring Web 2.0 and social computing capabilities to the enterprise to empower end-user participation in the workplace while maintaining governance and control for IT.
These three products focus on increasing end-user participation and improving productivity by offering tools and capabilities, while maintaining enterprise-class security and control. The three new products are:
- BEA AquaLogic Ensemble: infrastructure software to create and manage enterprise mashup applications, regardless of development platform and hosting environment;
- BEA AquaLogic Pages: a Web-based system to create Web applications and surface enterprise data to the Web to support day-to-day business situations;
- BEA AquaLogic Pathways: a collaborative information discovery and expert identification tool that combines social bookmarking and tagging with search and activity analytics. BEA AquaLogic Pathways can help users discover and share information and expertise through the power of social networks.
