Armchair travelers looking for information on Cuba, gain another Web site to go to today with the launch of Visit Cuba.

The site itself, created by Web design firm Troupe Design of Toronto, and programmed by Design Shopp of Montreal, will eventually be tri-lingual in English, French and Spanish. The site is the project of 360 VOX Corporation, a Canadian company with several projects under development in Cuba.

Guy Chartier of Montreal-based 360 VOX, who worked in Cuba for a decade, explains that the new site is a way to share his company’s love and respect for Cuba. “More than any Caribbean island, Cuba has culture, architecture, music, arts and dance that make it a true world leader. On top of that, it has the world’s finest beaches. We want to share what we’ve found with everyone.”

Hiring analytics tool

Quebec City-based Wanted Technologies Corp. now provides detailed analysis of Canadian online hiring trends using the four-digit National Occupational Classification (NOC) code. The code is a widely-used standard established by the Canadian government.

Wanted Technologies said the data can be accessed their proprietary Analytics platform.

“Labour market and economic analysts now have the ability to use a timely set of data to measure hiring demand in Canada,” said Bruce Murray, the company’s CEO. “We collect online job posting data and now standardize 80,000 job ads weekly on the widely-used NOC data framework.”

Unified communications help

ThinkTel Communications is launching a service aimed at helping Canadian businesses adopt and deploy unified communication technologies through a variety of platforms with a particular focus on Microsoft Lync.
