Last chance for Hyperdrive
The new Waterloo, Ont.-based tech firm accelerator based in the Communitech Hub has issued another notice that it is accepting its first round of applications. Hyperdrive has a $30 million fund to lean on and plans to bring in cohorts of 10 startup firms three times a year. After a three-month development sprint, companies leave the hub and maintain contact with mentors and receive further funding support for up to 24 months.

If you feel like you can never get to the bottom of your to-do list, you’re not alone. LinkedIn has an infographic showing results from a survey of 6,500 users globally across 17 professions. Nearly nine in 10 Canadians say they fail to complete their task list in a given workday, mostly because of unexpected phone calls and meetings.

Lawful access revelations
Michael Geist continues his coverage that started yesterday with a blog post about an access to information request about a “secret government-telecom lawful access working group.” That saw the Conservatives sharing details about the planned lawful access regulations with telecom firms before it was publicly available. Today’s post shows telecom operators were expected to handle up to 200 simultaneous interceptions and when the providers would be financially compensated by law enforcement.
