Nexsan brings disk-based CAS archive with enterprise search capabilities

Nexsan Technologies announced its Assureon SA Archive Appliance, a disk-based archiving solution for smaller enterprises, branch offices and departmental groups that need simple and secure archiving capabilities, along with file retrieval of up to 20 million documents, based on searching documents for key words or phrases.

Assureon SA’s secure storage architecture ensures the long term integrity of archival content through automated integrity checks and self healing functions. Assureon SA provides an alternative to tape and optical storage, and delivers online access to archival information – simplifying the retrieval of digital assets required for corporate governance, compliance requirements and electronic discovery.

Search capabilities of the Assureon SA’s CAS architecture deliver results with de-duplicated results, contextual excerpts and summarization, and highlighted query terms. Users can search for documents by date; special fields such as title, location, size and author; and keywords and/or phrases. Document-level security ensures that users will not see documents in a result set that they do not have access permission.

Assureon SA is a second-generation CAS appliance that allows integration for archiving, e-discovery, email and more. Its secure storage architecture delivers an array of features including constant monitoring of file integrity, Lifecycle Management, file authentication, missing file alerts, and support for remote replication. Data integrity and security is assured with RAID 6 protection, which prevents the risk of data loss even if two drives fail, and WORM disk functionality that provides non-erasable and non-rewritable functionality.

The Assureon SA Archive Appliance is available now through Nexsan’s worldwide channel of resellers.
