Transition Networks offers extended remote management with 802.3AH Ethernet in First Mile Converter
Transition Networks Inc. announced the extension of its line of 802.3AH compliant media converters with the introduction of an 100FX to 1000SX/LX remotely managed converter.

This new converter is fully compliant with the new Ethernet in the Last Mile 802.3AH standard using OAM for management; it can also be assigned its own IP address. The device is available as either a standalone or chassis card form factor. This latest addition enables service providers to monitor the link, activate loopback, provision the bandwidth, enter and manage VLANs, QoS and choose the appropriate mode of connection straight from network management centres.

These products can be used in pairs or with any other IEEE 802.3AH product.

Juniper offers Ethernet service cards
Juniper Networks Inc. announced Ethernet Services products designed to simplify the deployment and migration of legacy networks and services to Ethernet. The new Ethernet Services cards provide high-density Ethernet interfaces and fine-grained quality of service (QoS) functionality in a modular system that can be added incrementally to existing M- and T-series routing platforms.

The new Ethernet Services cards support Juniper Networks’ Ethernet Services Engine technology, a modular software and hardware platform that provides a feature set optimized for next-generation, Ethernet-based services for the M- and T-series routing platforms. The Ethernet Services Engine offers QoS and traffic management features that meet the performance requirements of both broadband business services and residential multiplay services.

Cisco introduces Intelligent Services Gateway
Cisco Systems announced the availability of the Intelligent Services Gateway (ISG) feature set for the Cisco 10000 Series, Cisco 7200 Series and 7301 model routers.

The Cisco ISG controls subscriber access at the edge of the network to enable the provisioning and management of broadband networks for a range of access and edge technologies, subscriber numbers and service types, linking subscriber service requests with distributed policy control. Cisco ISG helps ensure optimal QoS by providing the subscriber awareness needed to enable service prioritization and coordination for the simultaneous delivery of triple-play and mobile services over a converged IP network.
