Calendarscope 3.0 released by Duality
Duality Software has released Calendarscope 3.0, a calendar and reminder application for Windows that allows users to plan, schedule and manage appointments.
The product features intuitive icons and color-coding capabilities, allowing users to identify upcoming events at a glance. To reschedule an event, the user drags and drops it in a new space on the calendar. Users can also use the mouse to change the duration of an event. More than 30 countries’ holidays are pre-coded. A number of export options are available such as printing calendars, saving them in HTML format and publishing them online and synchronize using the program’s HandySync for Palm or HandySync for Pocket PC program.
Calendarscope 3.0 runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT 4/2000/XP/2003/Vista and costs US$39.95 for a single-user licence, and may be purchased from the company’s site. Multi-user discounts are available. An evaluation copy is also available from the site.
jProductivity introduces update to Protection! licensing framework for Java
jProductivity LLC has released Protection! version 2.1, a licensing framework for Java that ensures that users adhere to the terms of your applications’ licensing agreements. Protection! lets you embed licence reading and validation code into the components and applications that are released.
The version features licence encryption enhancements, including support for RSA encryption with key sizes up to 512 bits. The release also includes full internationalization support, with English, Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish being supported. There are plans to include more languages in future releases. The version provides improvements to Protection! Developer and User Guides with additional topics.
Protection! version 2.1 supports Windows 2000/2003/XP, Solaris/SPARC/x86, Linux (Red Hat/SuSE/Debian), and Mac OS X. It is based on Java and is designed to work on any platform supporting Java 1.4 and higher. Protection! Standard and Professional cost US$407 and US$997 respectively, for a single-developer licence. Protection! Sales Standard and Professional cost US$49 and US$99 respectively, for a single user licence. Protection! Backend costs US$2,500 per CPU. Multi-user discounts and other pricing schemes are available. A trial version of Protection! and Protection! Sales are available from the company’s site.
Febooti Software releases update to febooti ieZoom toolbar
Febooti Software announced the release of febooti ieZoom toolbar, version 1.4, an enhancement tool for Microsoft Internet Explorer. It enhances the browsing abilities to include automatic and manual scaling of printouts to fit the printer page width, zooming in and out of Internet Explorer content and browser history logging.
The toolbar lets you scale printouts so that the entire Web page is captured on paper. Scaling can be either automatic or manual. Users can also specify scaling presets to apply them with a single click. In addition to fitting wide output to a printed page, ieZoom can be used to reduce the number of pages in the printout to save paper. For Web site designers, febooti ieZoom can be used to check the design of a site at various resolutions, by allowing them to select an appropriate resolution from the drop-down menu on the toolbar or by using one of the presets by clicking on its icon on the toolbar.
febooti ieZoom toolbar 1.4 runs under Microsoft Windows 95/98/2000/XP/2003/Vista and requires Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. A single-user licence costs US$34.95. Discounts for volume buyers are available.
Version 7.0 of ThinPrint .print offers tool for analyzing costs of printing in a network
ThinPrint’s version 7.0 of its print management solution, ThinPrint .print, offers methods of compiling, analyzing and reducing the costs of printing. The software solution for printing in distributed networks features a tracking service, which logs print behaviour and output volume in a network.
In addition to the .print tracking service, the release offers other features that reduce the cost of printing by simplifying administration. The dynamic printer matrix, a new administration tool, is a matrix that lets administrators automatically assign the right printers to their users, including printer drivers, appropriate transfer protocol and optimal bandwidth setting. ThinPrint’s Driver Free Printing can also be used in conjunction with thin clients and print boxes to simplify administration.
