Paul Singh is best known as a partner at Silicon Valley accelerator 500 Startups but tomorrow he’ll be meeting with just five lucky startups when he stops in Toronto.
Singh has a busy itinerary lined up in Toronto: today he’ll hearstartup pitches in the morning and give a “fireside chat”at lunchtime followed by a closed meeting with investors at 3 p.m.,then he;ll have meetings with more startups onTuesday.
The five startups Singh has chosen to meet with are PenyoPal (interactive platforms to teachMandarin to kids), NoteSolution (crowdsourced contentfor universitystudents), Hovr(instantly links pictures posted on socialnetworks to online data for search and e-commerce purposes),Kickvox(mobile search engine with strong visual search component) andBunch(iPhone app for social sharing).
Singh selected the five startups to meet with from a list provided tohim by Toronto startup Cdling, Jolt accelerator, MaRS Commons and MaRS Mentor Network. (Singh will be meeting with some Jolt startups on Tuesday.) ITBusiness.ca will have further coverage of Singh’s fireside chat later.
