The latest round of Facebook updates invoked a wave of complaints about the social network’s redesign as users struggled to understand why the new look of their news feed.
It was no surprise, as almost every major redesign at the social network seems to stir up user outrage. But despite expressed anger in the platform, users seem to prefer to complain about it on Facebook rather than actually leaving Facebook altogether. It’s no wonder, since all of their friends are there and leaving the social network would mean users would have no one to brag to about their latest high score in Scrabble or show off their Farmville skills.
The Facebook Connect SDK is what users have to thank for such banal status updates around mini-games. It was released in April, 2009 as documented in this video:
