After an initial group buying craze in Canada, things have cooled off for the industry a bit, but many businesses are still using the services to attract new customers.
Many businesses running successful daily deals with sites like Groupon are using it to raise awareness about their locations. As Toronto-based Quebecois restaurant owner owner Kathryn Ashby says “it makes you a star for a day.” From there, it’s up to the business to try and retain those new customers coming in the day.
