With Microsoft Corp.’s announced acquisition of Internet voice and video communications platform Skype for $8.5 billion, you can’t help but wonder what Microsoft devices will soon be supporting the software.
Skype is already compatible with Windows 7 of course, but the deal will almost certainly mean Windows Phone 7 users will soon be seeing a Skype application available for download. It’s also possible Microsoft will push Skype out to its Xbox video game console, Windows-based tablets, and perhaps even its Microsoft surface technology.
