Join ITWC on June 21, 2022 for the second annual event to celebrate the IT accomplishments of Canada’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning and Two-Spirit (LGBTQ2S+) community. The virtual conference will showcase and celebrate LGBTQ2S+ voices and explore opportunities to create change in organizations through activism and allyship.
“We are thrilled to host this event for the second year in a row,” said ITWC CEO Fawn Annan. “This groundbreaking conference gives us an opportunity to highlight the importance of equity, diversity and inclusion in the technology community, and celebrate the many safe and inclusive IT workplaces across Canada.”
Produced by ITWC in collaboration with the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), the 2-hour conference will feature a keynote presentation, a collection of individual stories from people across Canada, and support attendees to develop their own virtual checklist on creating a safe workplace and community. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with each other directly in breakout sessions.
Unique to this year’s event is an exclusive preview and live panel discussion of new research that explores what it means to be LGBTQ2S+ and work in IT in Canada – and how allies can help create a culture of acceptance and support by inspiring others to act as change agents.
“This conference is an exciting opportunity to celebrate and learn from IT’s LGBTQ2S+ community,” said Lorena Gepraegs, Vice President of IT Security, Risk and Governance at HOOPP. “We’re proud to support this event again this year and we look forward to hearing the stories, participating in the discussions and celebrating the achievements of our LGBTQ2S+ colleagues.”
This event is also supported by Pride at Work, Queertech and the CIO Association of Canada.
