In 2012, an external report highlighted the necessity of modernizing Telefilm Canada’s processes and consolidating them onto one platform. After evaluating the benefits of a digitized environment, Telefilm Canada created the Information System Redesign project, which had goals of improving user experience, reducing delivery delays and costs, and increasing security.
The award presented Tuesday recognizes that effort and the development that stemmed from it, a new agnostic platform on Appian called Dialogue that centralizes information and communication.
Telefilm Canada has also adopted cloud. This mobile environment helps meet the needs of clients traveling around the world to festivals, working on location, and more.
“They undertook a significant step,” said judge Gary Davenport. “They recognized that while their organization wasn’t under threat and their audience was relatively happy, it could all change if they didn’t act. It was a significant change in thinking which is a significant part of what transformation is all about.”
