One of the fastest-growing cities in Canada, Mississauga, Ont. is home to a booming medtech sector and some of the biggest names in innovation, including Boston Scientific Corporation, which made headlines recently with its $1.75B USD acquisition of Mississauga’s home-grown Baylis Medical Company.

This will put hundreds of clinical, workflow, analytics and AI tools at the fingertips of clinicians around the world.
  • Abbott announced that their Neuro Sphere Virtual Clinic has been licensed by Health Canada, making it the first-ever remote programming technology in North America. This tool helps patients living with chronic pain or Parkinson’s Disease, who might otherwise find access challenging due to location, enjoy quality care.
  • Novo Nordisk The Novo Nordisk Network for Healthy Populations is a $40 million investment ($20M from Novo Nordisk and $20M from University of Toronto) that will improve the lives of people with diabetes, and those at risk, by funding initiatives to prevent the disease and to diagnose early cases, as well as educate people about healthy living habits.
