Touring MakeWorks, a co-working space for 3D printing and hardware

Last week, ITBusiness.ca editor Brian Jackson had the chance to check out MakeWorks Studio, a Toronto-area coworking space.

While tech entrepreneurs have been using coworking spaces for a while to escape their home offices and to meet other like-minded people, MakeWorks is home to a 3D printing lab, prototyping lab, and a film and photography studio. Founder Mike Stern took Jackson around for a tour of the space.

“MakeWorks is a co-working studio, but with a focus on being a hardware innovation hub for Toronto. We’re seeing a new trend in how people build physical goods and how they commercialize them,” Stern said. “We’re trying to help our members with the tools and mentorship they need to thrive.”
